Education Abroad in Lyon

The Lyon Summer Program is an intensive language and culture program directed by the Department of French and Italian of the University of Texas at Austin in cooperation with the Université Jean Moulin, Lyon, France.

The program provides students the opportunity to live and study in France for seven weeks (corresponding to the first summer session), to develop French language skills and experience a different cultural environment. Students earn six credit hours for two courses.

The program is open to all registered undergraduate and graduate students at UT who have completed one year of French.

Two UT French faculty members accompany the group. Depending on enrollments, the group may also be accompanied by a graduate assistant from the department.

Application Deadline
January 31, 2025
Students are strongly encouraged to apply as early as possible as admissions are on a rolling basis. The 2025 application will open on November 1, 2024 and notification of acceptance will be given soon after individual interviews are conducted. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due by Feb 15, 2025.
