Parma Maymester Program Courses

Students sign up for ITC339 Italian Cinema: “Representing the Environment, Sustainable Film Productions, and Green Festivals.” In this course, students will study Italian cinema with a particular focus on how films represent both rural and industrial landscapes, denounces environmental issues, and re-focus our gaze on the non-human. We will also explore sustainable practices that are currently used in both Italian film productions and film festivals. ITC339 carries an Independent Inquiry flag; during the program, student will work in collaboration with members of 24FPS on a project relevant to the topics of the course. The course will also include guest lectures by experts in the field.
