Lyon Summer Program - May 26 to July 8, 2022

Overview of the Program

Arrival in ParisThe Lyon Summer Program is an intensive language and culture program directed by the Department of French and Italian of the University of Texas at Austin in cooperation with the Université Jean Moulin, Lyon, France.

The program provides students the opportunity to live and study in France for seven weeks (corresponding to the first summer session), to develop French language skills and experience a different cultural environment. Students earn six credit hours for two courses.

The program is open to all registered undergraduate and graduate students of UT and to students in good standing from other universities or colleges who register at UT for the summer session who have completed one year of french.

Two UT French faculty members accompany the group. Depending on enrollments, the group may also be accompanied by a graduate assistant from the department.

Application Deadline
February 1, 2022
Students are strongly encouraged to apply as early as possible as admissions are on a rolling basis. The 2022 application will open on November 1, 2021 and notification of acceptance will be given soon after individual interviews are conducted. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due upon acceptance into the program.

Program Dates
May 26 - July 8, 2022 (Students may remain in host families until July 11)

No UT Austin student, faculty, or staff can be required to travel to a Restricted Region ( Any participation in travel to a Restricted Region is strictly voluntary, and the participant assumes full responsibility for all risks associated with this travel. Participants have the option to withdraw from participation in this program at any time.
