GISc Presents Web 2.0 Mapping
Google Earth Globe

Google Earth, Google Maps, and Microsoft Bing Maps (formerly Virtual Earth) have democratized GIS and introduced geographic tools to the world.  Using web tools, geographers can now communicate to the public in a easy format that majority of people are familiar with.  These tools are easy, powerful, and open to customization and interaction.

Join the GISc Center's workshop on Thursday Oct. 22nd, 2009 at 4:00 pm in GRG 206 - Holz Remote Sensing Laboratory for an interactive presentation of GIS in the Web 2.0 Era.

Workshop will demonstrate how to communicate via web tools like Google Maps, Google Earth, and Microsoft Bing Maps.  Will introduce concepts like API programming to customize Google Maps, and demonstrate uses of Web mapping around the world.
