Paul Hudson and Matt LaFevor present at the International Geographical Union congress in Santiago, Chile

Paul Hudson and doctoral student, Matthew LaFevor represented UT Geography at the International Geographical Union's (IGU) Regional Congress in Santiago, Chile November 14-18, 2011. 

Hudson presented a paper entitled, Land Degradation and Change in Floodplain Water Bodies along the Lower Mississippi River in Response to Flood Control (co-authored with UT grads M. LaFevor and M.A. Sounny-Slitine). 

LaFevor presented a paper entitled, Metepantle Crop Terraces of Tlaxcala, Mexico: Implications for Green Water Conservation and Sustainability. They also took a brief excursion to the central Andes, and to the coast to examine the impacts of the 2010 earthquake and tsunami.
