Professor Sheryl Luzzadder-Beach Appointed to Raymond Dickson Centennial Professorship

Geography and the Environment Professor Sheryl Luzzadder-Beach  was recently appointed as Raymond Dickson Centennial Professor #1 by the Dean of UT’s College of Liberal Arts. She is the first Female Geography and the Environment faculty member to be appointed as an Endowed Professor at the University of Texas. Dr. Luzzadder-Beach recently served as GRG Department Chair (2014-2018), and as the President of the American Association of Geographers (2018-2019). Her research focuses on hydrology, geoarchaeology, spatial statistics, and science and human rights, and she is an associate faculty member in the Teresa Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies. She follows Geography and the Environment Professors Karl Butzer (1934-2016) and Edgardo Latrubesse (now at Nanyang Technical U.) in holding this Endowed Professorship.
