The focuses are geochemical and mineralogical analyses. The main equipment is a bench top dual Olympus BTX Profiler X-ray diffraction and X-ray fluorescence analyzer that combines 2-D-XRD and EDXRF (energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence) technology to provide full compositional analysis. Additional equipment includes a portable XRF, and a Bartington MS2 magnetic susceptibility meter (with MS2B and MS2C sensors). A specific chamber for cold storage of samples and cores is available.
