Norwegian 604 (fall) and 612 (spring) are accelerated language courses that enable students to complete both beginning and intermediate language sequences in two semesters, thereby fulfilling the Liberal Arts language requirement in half the usual time. Learning Norwegian enables students to read other Northern Germanic languages like Danish and Swedish with relative ease. Knowledge of Norwegian thus provides access to a Nordic language community of 18,000,000 people. Norway is an advanced and technologically sophisticated society that has become a world leader in the energy industry.
