Application Fee Waiver Information
Applicants with demonstrated financial need may be eligible for an application fee waiver:
US citizens/permanent residents applying to pursue a graduate degree for the first time must apply for an application fee waiver directly from the Graduate School by submitting requested financial documentation following the instructions here. Fee waivers are not available for international citizens.
For non-US citizens/ permanent residents and US citizens/permanent residents who did not qualify for the application fee waiver through the Graduate School but have financial need, the department offers a limited number of waivers on a case-by-case basis. To apply for a waiver from the department, please submit:
- a written statement of no more than one page detailing the circumstances or hardship that prevent you from paying the fee
- your resume/ CV, including your desired fields(s) of study and a five sentence summary of your statement of purpose/research interests. (While you do not have to use our template, please ensure your resume/CV includes all of the requested information. Test scores may be listed as pending for your fee waiver request.)
