Applications to the J.J. “Jake” Pickle Undergraduate Research Fellowship are available to undergraduate students who meet the following criteria:

• Have an interest in learning more about research in political science, developing quantitative research skills, and executing an original research project on a topic related to American political institutions.
• Are Juniors or Seniors upon commencement of the Fellowship. Exceptions may be made for Sophomores on a case-by-case basis. Transfer students may apply only after completing two semesters at UT.
• Expect to enroll in at least 12 credit hours (full-time status), including the Fellowship course, during both semesters of participation.
• The application is available here, and may be submitted via email to both Professors Epp and Theriault. The application deadline is April 1 of each academic year, though applications may be considered on a rolling basis afterwards. Applicants are encouraged to meet with Professors Epp or Theriault before applying.
