Labs, Series, Workshops

The following resources are available at the University of Texas. 

Anti-Eviction Lab brings together spatial, racial, and technological justice collective projects with student researchers.

Border Tech Lab  The aim of the Border Tech Lab is to interrogate boundary making processes at the heart of sociotechnical relations--from the regulation and ordering of labor to the construction of classifications, and the making and meanings of human-machine configurations. Members of the Lab participate in team-based research using a variety of methods that include archival research, oral history, critical inquiry, and discourse analysis. Our work draws together the fields of feminist STS, American and ethnic studies, and digital (media) studies.

Digital Humanities Lab @ Germanic Studies is a DH collaboration that promotes transdisciplinary research and teaching related to Germanic Studies. The Digital Humanities Lab in Burdine Hall (BUR 306) provides a space for workshops, lectures, and opportunities for collaboration.

Digital Writing and Research Lab is housed in the Department of Rhetoric & Writing that supports research and teaching of emerging digital literacies. The lab offers support to faculty and students via classrooms and equipment, as well as events including speakers and workshops.

Global Disinformaion Lab focuses on the use of digital media to spread information, misinformation, and disinformation. The lab draws faculty and student researchers from across disciplines to participate in various disinformation-related research projects.

JapanLab is a collaboration between the Department of History and Department of Asian Studies to create Japan-focused digital educational content for the classroom. The lab space in Garrison Hall (GAR 3.102) provides a space for students to work on JapanLab projects. 

Quantitative Criticism Lab broadly focuses on the study of literature and culture, with an emphasis on Classics, literary criticism, philology, and big data. The lab space in the Student Activity Center (WCP 4.190) hosts collaborators including faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates.

Data and Donuts workshop series is organized by the UT Libraries Research Data Services team. Workshops focus on advice, resources, and tools for maintaining data through all stages of the research process.

Digital Humanities Workshops @PCL provides an opportunity for faculty and students from across the university to participate in workshops on DH tools and research methods. Multiple workshops are offered each semester.

LLILAS Benson Digital Scholarship provides training sessions for using DH tools specifically with LLILAS Benson materials.

The undergraduate Texas Student Digital Humanities (TSDH) club runs workshops each semester on various DH tools and methods  of interest to the group.
