CONNECT+Humanities

The CONNECT+Humanities program is a collaboration between the Humanities Institute and the CONNECT program in UT Graduate School’s Office of Career and Life Services. The goal of this joint effort is to encourage collaborations between humanities students and local organizations.

The CONNECT program:

Nonprofits are at the forefront of solving complex social issues. CONNECT offers nonprofits an opportunity to address data and evaluation challenges to:

  • Understand their client or community landscape
  • Gain meaningful insights into their work
  • Achieve their desired social impact

Projects typically span 3-4 months, with fellows dedicating around 10 flexible hours per week. Most projects are remote, though specific engagement details can be found in the project library. More information.

HI supports students in the humanities and the arts to prepare for CONNECT consultancy positions. This support includes training in our PDP program including, but not limited to, the following topics:

  • Project management
  • Grant proposal research and writing
  • Survey design and evaluation
  • Conducting interviews or oral histories
  • Logic modeling and other evaluative methods

All students and organizations apply to CONNECT through the CONNECT application process. If you have any questions, please contact Meg Sweeney meg.sweeny@austin.utexas.edu.
