Events Co-sponsorship
Event co-sponsorships, supported by our various endowments, provide funding assistance for events that are free and open to the UT community and the public. Each endowment supports various lectures, workshops, and conferences, bringing scholars, students, and the community together to engage in meaningful dialogue and knowledge exchange.
HI is grateful for the following endowments: the Barron Ulmer Kidd Centennial Lectureship, the Sanger Mossiker Chair in the Humanities, the Sterling Clark Holloway Centennial Lectureship, and the Viola S. Hoffman and George W. Hoffman Lectureship in Liberal Arts and Fine Arts.

- Award: Typical requests are between $250 and $2000. Funding is available through our endowed resources and may be used for travel and honoraria, food and refreshments, event materials and supplies, and other costs aligned with our endowment guidelines.
- Program requirements: Events must be free and open to UT faculty, staff, students, and the public. All promotional materials must acknowledge the Humanities Institute and the supporting endowment.
- Next Deadline: Applications for co-sponsorship funding can be submitted during the following time periods:
- For spring events: December 1 - January 15
- For fall events: August 1 - September 15
Questions about the event co-sponsorships program or application can be directed to Cheryl Pratt.
Eligibility: Co-sponsored events should engage clear humanities themes and be open to the public. Events must be led by a faculty member.
To apply, complete the events co-sponsorship request form which will ask for the following information:
- Event co-sponsorship faculty lead, position, department
- Event title, date, speaker(s)
- Requested funding and explanation of how those funds will be spent
- A short event description and how this event aligns with HI's mission
