Our mission is to advance research, education, and community engagement on policy- and practice-relevant issues related to law, societies, and justice. The ILSJ has faculty, postdoctoral, student, and staff affiliates from 13 Colleges, Schools, and Units (CSUs). Faculty and postdoctoral affiliates are eligible for all available supports and services such as small grants; student research support; assistance with grant submission and administration; assistance with room reservations; assistance with hiring and on-boarding of student and community fellows; data and technical advice; and publicity.

The advisory team of ten people includes six faculty, three community members, and an undergraduate student. The advisory team meets at least quarterly to discuss and provide advice on ILSJ strategy, policies, processes and practices. In addition to participation in quarterly meetings, advisory team members serve on hiring committees, review grant proposals, and review student fellowship applications.

Special thanks to our partners and sponsors in the Office of the Vice President for Research, Scholarship and Creative Endeavors, the College of Liberal Arts, and the College of Eduation
