We like to recognize Liberal Arts Honors students who go above and beyond our expectations and values by receiving a variety of notable awards and scholarships. Below are the recipients and information concerning the scholarship they received.

Notable Scholarships
- Dean's Distinguished Graduates - The College instituted this award in 1980 to recognize graduating Liberal Arts students who have distinguished themselves in the areas of scholarship, leadership, and service to the College and University community. It is the highest award the College offers and truly reflective of the remarkable caliber of our graduates
- Dedman Distinguished Scholars - The Dedman Distinguished Scholarship offers a unique level of support, covering tuition, housing, books, and all education-related expenses for its recipients. The scholarship not only provides students with the economic resources they need to attend college, it also frees students from the time commitment of outside employment, allowing them to focus on their studies, extracurricular activities, community engagement, and personal growth.
- Forty Acres & Martin Dies Jr. Forty Acres Scholarship - The Forty Acres Scholars Program inspires and nurtures visionary leaders and helps them use their talents to benefit society. Forty Acres scholars demonstrate intellectual curiosity and have a track record of outstanding academic success. Most importantly, they have passion and a desire to live out the core values of The University of Texas at Austin. The Forty Acres Scholarship provides funding for tuition, a living stipend, a book stipend, as well as enrichment activities including a community component, a global experience, and professional experiences.
- Fulbright U.S. Student Program Scholarship - The Fulbright U.S. Student Program provides funding for studying abroad for individually designed study/research projects or for English Teaching Assistant Programs. The program facilitates cultural exchange through direct interaction on an individual basis in the classroom, field, home, and in routine tasks, allowing the grantee to gain an appreciation of others’ viewpoints and beliefs, the way they do things, and the way they think. Through engagement in the community, the individual will interact with their hosts on a one-to-one basis in an atmosphere of openness, academic integrity, and intellectual freedom, thereby promoting mutual understanding. The Fulbright Scholarship covers round-trip transportation to host country, room, board, incidental costs and provides Accident and Sickness Health Benefits.
- Larry Temple Scholarship - The Larry Temple Scholarship Endowment was established by The University of Texas System Board of Regents for the benefit of The University of Texas at Austin on October 12, 1990. The Scholarship, a $11,000 a year award renewable for two years, honors Larry Eugene Temple, Austin lawyer and public servant. Temple Scholars are selected primarily on the basis of superior academic merit. Additional consideration shall be given to those with a record of independent scholastic activities, extracurricular activities, and leadership. In evaluating candidates, the Selection Committee will take into account financial need.
- Marshall Scholarship - The Marshall Scholarship funds one to two full years of graduate study leading to a degree in Great Britain. In the past this awards has taken U.T. students, in fields ranging from Electrical Engineering to Humanities/Plan I Honors, to Oxford, Cambridge, and other British universities. The Marshall Scholarship will support study at any UK university. A University committee interviews candidates for the Marshall scholarship, and you must have University endorsement to be a candidate.
- Schwarzman Scholarship - The Schwarzman Scholars is a highly selective, one-year master’s program at Tsinghua University in Beijing that is designed to prepare the next generation of global leaders for the challenges of the future. The Schwarzman Program is funded by an all expense paid scholarship to attend the one-year master's program. Conditions of the scholarship include being on track to receive a bachelors degree by August 2017, as well as being at least 18 and not yet 29 years of age.
- Rapoport-King Thesis Scholarship - The Rapoport-King Thesis Scholarships honor Audre and Bernard Rapoport and Robert D. King, former Dean of the College of Liberal Arts. To be eligible for a Rapoport-King Scholarship, candidates must be enrolled as a Plan I student and must be planning to write a senior thesis in one of the College's departmental honors programs. Fellows will be chosen on basis of academic record, the quality of the thesis proposal, and financial need. As Mr. Rapoport has put it: the candidates should be "smart and deserving." - Truman Scholarship - The Truman Scholarship provides up to $30,000 in funding to students pursuing graduate degrees in public service fields. Truman Scholars are required to be full-time students pursuing a bachelor's degree with junior-level academic standing or have senior-level standing in the third year of college enrollment, as well as intend to bring change, improving the ways that government agencies, nonprofit organizations, or educational institutions serve the public.
