Student Employment Opportunities

Liberal Arts Honors has an array of student employee positions every semester: 

  • LAH 102H, LAH 112H, and LAH 103H Fellows: These undergraduate TA positions assist in the first- and second- year LAH Scholars courses, and the Fellows serve as mentors for newer LAH students. Available fall and spring.
  • Humanities Preceptor: This teaching assistant helps to guide HMN 102T and 102H students as they plan their Humanities contracts. Available fall and spring.
  • Reacting to the Past Preceptors: These teaching assistants work with LAH 305R and LAH 351G instructors with course prep and coaching students in game strategy and public speaking. Available fall and spring.
  • LAH Admissions Readers: Students work with Assistant Director Linda Mayhew in reviewing applications for incoming LAH Scholars. Available fall and spring.
  • LAH Orientation Peer Mentors: Our peer mentors help guide incoming first-year students through orientation sessions. Available May through July.
  • LAH Front Desk Associates: These students welcome guests to the LAH office, answer the phone and emails, and help around the office as needed. Available fall, spring, and summer.
  • LAH Social Media Interns: These workers design new content for the LAH Instagram page and website. Available fall, spring, and summer.
  • Dedman Distinguished Scholars Program Social Media Intern: This student designs new content for the DDSP social media and websites. Available fall, spring, and summer.
  • Harry Ransom Center Internships: Each year, LAH funds three paid undergraduate internships at the Harry Ransom Center, where students can work with classes visiting the archives, learn about preservation and conservation, or work in a public-facing position.
