About
The University of Texas at Austin is known for its unique expertise at the nexus of public law and political science. The Center for Law and Democracy is both a reflection and affirmation of that work, supporting research, teaching, and publishing that deepen interdisciplinary work across law and political science. Home to both long-standing and new research, and innovative partnerships across campus and across the world, the Center convenes faculty, undergraduates, and graduate students working at the nexus of law and democracy.
The Center’s core objectives are to:
- Deepen interdisciplinary work at the intersection of law and democracy,
- Accelerate and promote innovative research that advances the rule of law and democracy globally,
- Provide unique courses and fieldwork that prepare students to lead in these fields, and
- Convene communities across the university and across the globe to foster partnerships that advance research, teaching, and publishing on law and democracy.
