Linguistics Department Subject Pool

The linguistics subject pool has been established in order to a) give students experience of taking part in experimental research, a key component of our discipline, and b) to help support ongoing research by the department’s faculty and students. This program is designed to allow students to gain some familiarity with how some types of linguistics research are conducted. Students who are enrolled in LIN 306: Introduction to the study of language may fulfill their experimental  requirement by either participating in one experiment, or by attending a linguistics colloquium. The experiments are part of ongoing research in the department and illustrate features of language structure and use that are relevant to topics covered in the core linguistics curriculum.  Similarly, the talks are on topics covered in the linguistics curriculum.

Students who are enrolled in LIN306, can register to participate in the subject pool program at https://utexas-linguistics.sona-systems.com

If you have any questions about this program you can email the subject pool coordinators: Rajka Smiljanic (rajka@mail.utexas.edu).
