Summer Doctoral Institute

Intersectional Qualitative Research Methods Institute for Doctoral Students

2026 Institute Applications Open Now!

In 2026, the Latino Research Institute at The University of Texas at Austin will partner with the Kirwan Institute at The Ohio State University to provide two distinct training opportunities: one for doctoral students and the other for early career faculty.

IQRMI-DS is among the few training institutes in the U.S. to focus on qualitative research methods, and incorporate scholarly discussion on the intersections of race, gender, class, ethnicity, and other dimensions of inequity. In addition to facilitating these important conversations, this institute provides practical resources and professional development to intersectional scholars in their pursuit of successful research careers. The Institute is open to all applicants regardless of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, or disability. Learn more about the IQRMI-DS curriculum.
