Mexican Consulate General Study
Assessing mental health access to resources and services among immigrant Latinx emerging adults
Project Summary:
The project will consist of focus groups and individual interviews with Latinx immigrant emerging adults and their parents. These will inform the content and feasibility of a mental health promotion model that screens, refers, and connects Latinx emerging adults to mental health resources and services at the Mexican Consulate General of Austin. The goal of the qualitative study is to build a sustainable mental health model and intervention (including screening questions, referral protocols, and other measures) for Latinx emerging adults of immigrant families by expanding the consulate’s Ventanilla de Salud program, which connects individuals with medical needs to healthcare.
