- Events Request for room reservations or event support, submit 6-12 weeks in advance.
- Guest Speaker Request for speaker honorariums and speaker travel, submit at least 4 weeks in advance.
- Hiring Survey for student and staff hires, submit at least 3 weeks in advance.
- Travel Authorization Request required prior to booking any travel.
- Travel Reimbursement Request must be submitted no later than 30 days after the last approved travel date.
- Latino Studies Travel Policies & Procedures Guide for Latino Studies faculty and staff with information on submitting relevant forms and making travel purchases according to UT Austin and Latino Studies' operating protocols.
Dr. Alba Ortiz Award for Faculty Teaching Excellence
The Mexican American and Latina/o Studies (MALS) Department has two teaching awards which may be given annually, one for faculty and one for graduate students. This award honors faculty (including tenured/tenure-track faculty and lecturers) who have taught in MALS for at least two academic years and who demonstrate a record of excellence in the undergraduate and/or graduate classroom or in the mentoring of student research projects.
