MALS Professional Development Award

The Department of Mexican American and Latina/o Studies (MALS) offers professional development funding to support current MALS PhD students in completing their degrees and advancing toward successful professional careers.

This award is intended primarily to offset travel expenses for students who are:

• Presenting an original paper at a major meeting or professional conference, or

• Conducting research at a designated site in support of a dissertation or other research project

How to Apply:

Students must complete the online application and upload required documentation verifying the research-related activity, including:

• Correspondence with the research site
• Confirmation of conference registration or acceptance
• Hotel or travel reservations

Deadline:

Applications must be submitted at least 30 days before the planned use of funds.
