The Department of Government will hold its orientation for new students on Tuesday August 23, 1-4 pm, BUR 100 and Wednesday, August 24, 9-12 am in BUT 100. All new students are encouraged to attend.

The Department's graduation ceremony for the Class of 2005 was held on May 20. Approximately 170 of the 250 graduating students participated. Opening remarks by Chair recognized the graduates for their accomplishments and the faculty for their teaching/research awards.

Professor Speaks About His Just-released Book "Polio: An American Story"

Prof. David Oshinsky, the George Littlefield Professor of American History in the History Department, will be speaking at the Arboretum's Barnes and Noble Bookstore next Thursday, April 28, at 7 p.m. about his just-released book, Polio: An American Story (Oxford University Press). He will talk about the lessons to be gleaned from his research for the world today.
