Professor Paul E. Szarmach to Deliver Lecture

Professor Paul Szarmach is visiting us under the auspices of the Distinguished Visiting Lecturers series on Friday, February 23, 2007. There will be a seminar from 10:30-12:15, a graduate-students-only lunch from 12:30-1:45 PM, and a lecture for all interested parties from 3:00-4:30 PM.

Professor Szarmach's long and storied career defies easy summation. Some fourteen books have taken shape on his long-suffering keyboard, most recently Sources of Anglo-Saxon Literary Culture Volume I, which he edited in coordination with the professors Frederick Biggs, Thomas Hill, and E. Gordon Whatley. He has held, by turns, editorship of the journals The Old English Newsletter, Garland Studies in Medieval Literature, Medieval Studies, and Mediaevalia.
