The Persian Gulf

The Persian Gulf Award for the best short story written in Persian by a college student outside Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan. 

Guidelines: Each submitter may send one story, typed and submitted as both a word and a pdf file (font size 12, double spaced, preferably using the font B Nazanin, but any font will be acceptable). Maximum of 20 pages in Persian.

Submission Deadline: October 15, 2024

1st prize will receive $500, 2nd prize $300 and 3rd prize $200. All winners will have an English translation of their story published in Y’alla: A Texan Journal of Middle Eastern Literature

Mount Damavand

The Damavand Award for the best poem written in Persian by a college student outside Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan.

Guidelines: Each submitter may send up to 3 poems, typed and submitted as both a word and a pdf file (font size 12, double spaced, preferably using the font B Nazanin), Maximum of 10 pages total (up to 3 poems) in Persian.

Submission Deadline: October 15, 2024

1st prize will receive $500, 2nd prize $300 and 3rd prize $200. All winners will have an English translation of their poem(s) published in Y’alla: A Texan Journal of Middle Eastern Literature
