Research Spotlight: Sigrid K. Kjær
Sigrid K. Kjær is a fifth-year graduate student in Hebrew Bible with a minor in Religious Studies. She came to the University of Austin in the Fall of 2013 after finishing her Master’s degree at Leiden University. In the Spring of 2017 she advanced to candidacy and plans on finishing her dissertation Spring 2019. The topic of her dissertation is "Religious Transformation in Late Antique Arabia: The Jewish Kingdom of Joseph dhu Nuwas," and her main advisors are Prof. John Huehnergard and Assoc.Prof. Azfar Moin.

Her thesis at Leiden was on linguistic and cultural contact in the Nabataean-Aramaic legal scrolls found at Naḥal Ḥever, and this sparked her interest in the pre-Islamic Arabian Peninsula and the Dead Sea Region around the beginning of the Common Era.
