High School
Students who are current high school seniors and planning to graduate in May are eligible to apply for the National Four-year Scholarship (Navy or Marine Corps), the College Program, or the Historically Black College and University (HBCU) Scholarships.
National Four-year Scholarship
The NROTC National Four-Year Scholarship Program is designed to educate and train well-qualified young men and women for careers as commissioned officers in the unrestricted line of The United States Navy or the United States Marine Corps.
Benefits
National Four-Year Scholarship selectees receive college tuition, a textbook stipend each semester, uniforms, and a monthly subsistence allowance.
Application
In order to be considered for a National Four-Year Scholarship, applicants must meet all designated requirements and apply for the scholarship via the U.S. Navy’s main NROTC website, in coordination with a local Navy Recruiter or Marine Corps Officer Selection Officer.
College Program
The NROTC College Program is designed to educate and train college students for careers as commissioned officers in the unrestricted line of the United States Navy and the United States Marine Corps.
College Program Students complete the same training requirements as Scholarship Students without the financial support of the Scholarship Program. However, all College Program Students are eligible to earn a scholarship through academic and military training performance, if desired.
Upon graduation and completion of all Naval Science requirements, College Program Students are commissioned as Ensigns in the Navy or as Second Lieutenants in the Marine Corps.
Requirements
In addition to the general program requirements College Program Students must:
- Be U.S. or naturalized citizen or have submitted naturalization papers.
- Be currently enrolled as a full-time student at the University of Texas at Austin or Huston-Tillotson University.
- Have at least three years of college coursework remaining until they receive a degree.
