The Plan II Honors Program and the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History collaborated to create an internship program which was launched during the spring 2015 semester.  This internship presents an experiential learning opportunity in a major history research center, with exposure to archival, library, and material culture collections that lend evidence to broad themes in U.S. History.

The Dolph Briscoe Center for American History is an organized research unit and public service component of The University of Texas at Austin.  Through stewardship, scholarship, and outreach, the Briscoe Center increases knowledge and fosters exploration of our nation's past.  As a leading history research center, the Briscoe Center collects, preserves, and makes available documentary and material culture evidence encompassing key themes in Texas and U.S. History.  Researchers, students, and the public use the collections at the Briscoe Center for a wide range of academic, professional, and personal uses.  The collections also inspire the Briscoe Center's own projects, including books, exhibits, programs, films, and educational materials.

Active within the fall and spring semesters, the internship offers experiences within the Research and Collections Division, primarily focused on processing collections, preservation of collection material, assisting with exhibitions preparation, and working on website enhancement.
