Latin American Studies
The Teresa Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies (LLILAS) is a multidisciplinary institute that integrates several centers and programs devoted to promote interest in the region. LLILAS is the oldest Latin American studies program in the United States and one of the best worldwide. This is a vibrant and fast paced environment where students have the opportunity to interact with foreign students, Latin American visiting professors, government officials, politicians and private sector representatives.

Plan II and LLILAS have partnered to offer a paid internship program designed to provide Plan II students with the opportunity to gain professional experience by learning about the work of multiple programs within LLILAS or to develop research skills by working with some of our most distinguished Latin Americanist faculty. The internship would be a great opportunity for those students interested pursuing graduate degrees or working in Latin American affairs; international public policy, international education as well as in any Social Sciences discipline.

The LLILAS internship position primarily focuses on research for half the year and LLILAS Center promotion the other half. LLILAS Latin Americanist faculty produce cutting-edge research on a broad range of topics and disciplines and help to maintain the academic leadership of the institute. This internship is an excellent opportunity for students considering graduate school. Duties may include literature research and review; data manipulation, analysis, and interpretation; organization of research materials (data, texts, articles); and LLILAS capacity building projects including event management, online research, translation of documents, and clerical support as needed.
