Workshop-That-Grant

The Workshop That Grant program, spearheaded by the PRC Director in 2015, is an advanced stage grant mentoring program designed to enhance funding success for both established and early career investigators. Faculty interested in workshopping their NIH proposal idea or draft contact the PRC Director for help in creating a review panel of PRC faculty members who are either experienced reviewers or specialized experts (or both). The Director then organizes and convenes a formal, one-hour discussion of the application focused on offering suggestions for revision and further development.

The Workshop That Grant program helps early stage investigators understand how NIH panels review grant applications, since most senior PRC faculty members have served on NIH review panels. Early stage investigators who participate in the summer Proposal Boot Camp are encouraged to also participate in the Workshop That Grant program for help revising their Boot Camp proposals for submission.

If you are interested in having a workshop for a proposal you are working on, contact Development Core Director Rob Crosnoe (crosnoe@austin.utexas.edu)  or PRC Director Mark Hayward (mhayward@prc.utexas.edu).
