Prerequisites
Any student who does not meet the prerequisite requirements will be dropped
PSY 301
Students must have taken PSY 301 and earned a grade of "C" or better* to take ANY other Psychologycourseswith the exception of:
- PSY 306 Human Sexuality
- PSY 317L Introduction to Statistics for Behavioral Sciences
- PSY 352 Abnormal Psychology
PSY 420M
PSY 420M is restricted to Psychology majors and double majors in Psychology. Also, requires completion of 30 semester hours of college coursework that includes:- M 302 or higher level math; a statistics course such as PSY 317L which is preferred.
- PSY 301 with a "C" or better*
- Must also earn a grade of "C" or better* to be considered complete.
- Maximum of two attempts to complete PSY 420M with a "C" or better*. Students will not be allow to take PSY 420M for a third time.
Upper Division PSY Courses
Most upper-division Psychology courses requires, in addition to PSY 301, 1) completion of at least 60 hours of course work and 2) a Statistics class.
- For psychology majors, the statistics requirement must be fulfilled by completion of PSY 418 or 420M with a grade of at least a "C" or better*.
- For non-majors—one of the following Statistics classes (with a "C" or better*) will suffice:
AFR 302M, BME 335, C E 311S, ECO 329, EDP 308, 371, E E 351K, GOV 350K, M 316, 362K, M E 335, PSY 317, PSY 317L, SOC 317L, S W 318, STA 309, SDS 301, 302, 303, 304, 305, 306, 318, 321, 328M. - Additional prerequisites may apply to certain upper-division Psychology courses
