L. Michael White receives Hamilton Book Award

L. Michael White, Professor of Religious Studies and Director of the Institute for the Study of Antiquity and Christian Origins, won the University Co-op's Hamilton Book Award for Scripting Jesus: The Gospels in Rewrite (Harper Collins, 2010). Professor White took the $10,000 grand prize. Named after former Co-op Board chair and UT law professor Robert W. Hamilton, the book awards are given to UT faculty for outstanding scholarship published during the previous academic year.

Professor White is the first two-time winner of the grand prize. He also won in 2006 for From Jesus to Christianity: How Four Generations of Visionaries and Storytellers Created the New Testament and Christian Faith.
