Step 1: Registering for the Course
Register for the course (LA 320J) during Fall enrollment.  If you miss the fall deadline, please contact Dr. Seriff.

Step 2: Selecting an Internship Option (Fall deadline: August 1, Spring deadline: December 1)
Identify at least 3 potential internship sites (from our list or come up with your own); schedule an appointment with Dr. Seriff to discuss your options.

Step 3: Applying to the Host Institution
Apply directly to the host institution by January 1, if possible.

Step 4: Applying for the Internship through COLA
Once you’ve applied or been accepted to the internship, fill out the COLA application. We will use this information to verify that you meet the student criteria and to make an initial evaluation of your internship site's eligibility.

Step 5: Completing the Learning Agreement
Once you have been selected by a host institution, the final step is a learning agreement to be completed and signed by you and your supervisor. A link to this learning agreement will be sent to you via email. Step 5 can be completed no later than the 10th class day of the semester. Banner photo credit: Workers Defense Project
