The College of Liberal Arts at the University of Texas at Austin seeks applications for a Lecturer position in Health and Society to begin in Spring 2016. The successful candidate will play a central role in developing a new undergraduate interdisciplinary Health and Society major. The mission of the Health and Society undergraduate major is to train students to understand the social, demographic, cultural, economic, political, and ethical contexts underlying health patterns, health behavior, medical care, and health policy. 

Applicants must be committed to undergraduate education and have demonstrated excellence in teaching with a commitment to mentoring undergraduate student research. The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching three undergraduate courses per semester and taking a lead role in mentoring undergraduate Health and Society majors. Applicants should have a terminal degree in a health-related field, such as health policy, public policy, public health, sociology, anthropology, or psychology. We welcome applicants with strong practical experience.
