Research Design Working Group
The Research Design Working Group is a diverse intellectual community helping students and faculty build strong methodological and research design toolkits. As part of this process, we hope to help participants: 1) evaluate the pros and cons of particular methodologies; 2) learn how the process of assembling data influences outcomes and which questions different data types can answer; 3) understand current methodological debates and discussions taking place within sociology and other social sciences; and 4) be a resource to connect students with fellow graduate students and faculty who have area expertise. During our monthly meetings, we invite graduate students and faculty members to discuss different design strategies and the mechanics of conducting research. Faculty sponsor: Ken-Hou Lin.
