The object of this one-day symposium is to bring together archaeologists, historians, and those with linguistic and textual knowledge to examine the archaeological record, past interpretations, current reinterpretations, and possible distortions of the data for political purposes. It will include a morning panel on excavations, and an afternoon panel on historical re-interpretations. More information to follow.
