"The development of Buddhism in India, the land of its origin
"How Buddhism spread beyond India
"Early traditions that emerged in India, including pilgrimage and ascetical practices
"The development of an emphasis on a^?oepurea^?? Buddhism in the 19th century
"How an emphasis on purity worked to skew the understanding of later periods of Buddhist devotion as reflected in contemporary practice
"More recent developments in the Himalayas
"Examine a trunk of Tibetan Buddhist artifacts that you can use in your classroom

Attendees will receive:
Professional Development Hours (CPE)
Teacher Materials on Buddhism
Lunch will be provided
