August 2023 — Sravani Kanamarlapudi (Asian Studies, Graduate Student ) has been awarded the 2023 Jagadish Fellowship, sponsored by the Hindu Temple of Antelope Valley, for her dissertation project, “Glorifying Śrīkāḷahasti: Sthalapurāṇas in Early Modern South India.” Sravani's research focuses on premodern Hindu literature, especially the epic and purāṇic narrative traditions, and her primary research languages are Sanskrit, Telugu, and Tamil.
