Looking to curate artifacts or archives at TARL?
Below are the steps and procedures to our curation submittal. The forms provided are downloadable as PDF documents, however, TARL staff can also provide them in a Microsoft Word template if necessary. Please note that all forms and documents submitted for curation must be on acid-free paper.

- Step 1: Request for Housing Form is submitted
This form includes sizes of drawers for calculating space needs. Forms are to be completed by the submitting archeologist and will be signed by authorized representative of TARL: Request for Housing/Provisional Housing Agreement (Form 1) (download PDF file)
- Step 2: Obtain/Compile Ownership Documents
- Transfer form for a private sponsor and the submitting archeologist: Letter of Transfer/Ownership (Form 6) (download PDF file)
- Transfer form for a public agency and the submitting archeologist: Governmental Agency Curation Agreement (Form 7) (download PDF file)
- This form is to be signed by private landowners affected by CRM projects and is to be submitted to TARL along with the appropriate Letter of Transfer cited above. The Deed of Gift is also used in non-CRM situations to document the formal transfer of materials to TARL. This would be the form for an individual or an institution, agency, or company to use if a tax credit for a donation to a non-profit entity (The University of Texas at Austin) was desired: Deed of Gift (Form 8) (download PDF file)
- Step 3: Obtain Photograph and Lot Number
Each site will require one of these for each project/phase of work done: Summary of Number Series Used (Form 2) (download PDF file)
- Step 4: Document Collection for submission
- Use as many sheets as needed for each project to indicate various kinds of treatment. Please provide a conservation report for any intensive stabilization, conservation, or restorative work. A conservation report should contain before and after pictures to document how much of the object was involved and what was done: Collection Processing Record (Form 3) (download PDF file)
