Information for Event Participants

The Texas Language Center holds workshops, conferences, and other events online using Zoom and in-person in several locations on campus. Typically, they are in the Texas Union (UNB building),  the Julius Glickman Conference Center within the RLP building (formerly CLA), or the Events Room of the McCombs School of Business (CBA building). Below you will find information about these locations along with suggested parking options. If you are looking for accommodations near the campus, see our list of Nearby Lodging Options. Texas Union (UNB) Events

The Texas Union is located at the intersection of W. 24 th and Guadalupe streets. Refer to the Texas Union Levels Maps for locating specific rooms in the Texas Union. Visit the Texas Union's parking page or the UT-Austin  parking page for a variety of parking options, including the University Co-Op garage (currently $22 per day; entrance is on San Antonio St.), which is the closest at about a tenth of a mile away. There are several other UT-Austin garages as well as limited metered street parking nearby.

Glickman Center and other Patton Hall (RLP) Events

Some maps of campus do not show the new RLP building. It may be listed as the College of Liberal Arts (CLA) building. It was recently renamed to the Robert L. Patton hall (RLP). It is located between the Student Activity Center (SAC) and the Etter-Harbin Alumni Center (UTX) on the west side of San Jacinto Blvd. across from the DKR Texas Memorial Stadium.

The Glickman Center is on the south end of the first floor of Patton Hall (RLP). Other workshop locations include seminar rooms on the north end of the ground or first floor of RLP.

The closest parking to the Patton Hall/Glickman Center is the  San Jacinto garage (SJG) . It is about a tenth of a mile away. Entrances are located on both Trinity St. and San Jacinto Blvd., and the rate is currently $18 per day. There are several other UT-Austin garages as well as limited metered street parking nearby.

McCombs Events Room (CBA) Events

The CBA building is located at the corner of 21 st St. and Speedway with the main entrance on 21 st St. The CBA Events room number is CBA 3.304. Refer to the third floor map for its location.

The closest parking options for the CBA Events room are about two or three tenths of a mile away:

Registration

Our registration system, while secure, is a little out-dated and unintuitive. Here are the steps:

  1. Go to our store via this link: http://links.utexas.edu/cfbieyq
  2. Click on Workshops and Conferences.
  3. Click on the event title you want.
  4. Type 1 in the Quantity field and the Add to Cart button.
  5. Click the Checkout button.
  6. Click the Check Out as Guest (Quick Checkout) button.
  7. Fill in the Billing information and click the Continue with Credit button to pay with a credit card (or click Purchase Order to provide a PO number*).
  8. Continue the check out.

*If you are paying with a PO, please be sure to get the PO processed and a check sent to us before the event! Also, please make sure the check is sent to the following address:

No-Show Request and Refund Policy

Many of our events fill the virtual or physical room's capacity, and we maintain a waitlist of interested participants. If you find you cannot attend an event for which you have registered, please be so kind as to email us so we can extend the opportunity to someone on our list.

We are happy to refund your registration fees when notified more than a week before the event. We will deduct a $10 processing fee to offset the credit card fees we are charged and our time.

If we can fill your seat in the event, we can extend the refund policy to less than a week before the event, but understand that by then we have ordered catering and expended other resources that prevent us from recouping costs when your cancellation is so close to the event date.
