NAESM Report on Abortion Safety and Care Features TxPEP Research
New NASEM report features TxPEP research.

A new report from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine (NASEM) entitled “The Safety and Quality of Abortion Care in the United States” concludes that abortion is a safe and effective form of health care. This evidence-based, non-partisan, scientific research overview, which was developed by an independent panel of 16 experts in the field, is the first comprehensive look at abortion safety, access and care conducted in the last forty years. The report relies in part on TxPEP research on topics such as the impact of the closure of abortion clinics in Texas, complications from first-trimester abortion, postabortion contraceptive use, and women’s experiences obtaining abortion care after the passage of House Bill 2.
