Texas Tribune Covers TxPEP Study on Community College Women and Contraceptive Preference
Tribune features TxPEP research.

The Texas Tribune has published an article on the recent TxPEP study on community college women’s use of and preference for more-effective methods (e.g. IUD, implants, pill, ring, or shot) and barriers to access.

In the article, TxPEP investigator Kristine Hopkins asserts that better access to more effective contraception methods can position community college women to prevent pregnancy and complete their degrees.

“What [this study] tells us is that we could do a better job — we as in colleges, clinics — could be doing a better job in helping women to get the more effective methods they want to be using,” Hopkins said.
