Katie Hansen is a Graduate Student Researcher at the Population Research Center at The University of Texas at Austin. She received her master's degree in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and is currently pursuing an MD/MPH dual degree from the Dell Medical School at UT-Austin.
Katie joined the Texas Policy Evaluation Project in September 2018, and her research interests include reproductive health and postpartum contraception provision. She currently serves on the Medical Students for Choice (MSFC) national board of directors and founded Dell Medical School's MSFC chapter in 2016. Katie plans to complete her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology with the aim of providing full spectrum reproductive health services.
In her free time, Katie enjoys crosswording, two-stepping, camping, and exploring the National Parks.
