Editing Unit Information

Clicking on the eyeball icon on the Web Editor Dashboard allows you to edit the Office Information for an individual unit. This information appears on different parts of the unit website as well as on the main College website.

Logo

The Logo appears at the top of every page on the unit website. Units should not have to update or edit their logo. If the logo needs to be updated, please contact the Public Affairs web team.

Chair / Director Name

The name of the department head or center director. This field appears in the unit homepage footer and the unit listing in the College's Academics page.

Chair / Director Title

The title of the department head or center director. This field appears in the unit homepage footer.

Email, Office Location, Address, Zip, Phone

These fields will appear in the unit homepage footer if they are filled out. We reccommend using general contact information for email and phone. All of these fields are optional. 

Giving Link

The giving link is currently not used on unit websites.

Meta Description

The meta description field is information that appears in the code of a web page and is used by search engines, social media sites, and other web services. The field should be considered a short summary of the website. The description should be one or two sentences about the unit's focus and offerings. 

For example, COLA's main site meta description:
The College of Liberal Arts at UT offers more than 40 undergraduate majors and many top-ranked graduate programs in the social sciences and humanities all taught by over 750 faculty members across our departments.
