Undergraduate Advisor
Lucy Vélez, Senior Academic Advisor for WGSS
Hello WGSS students!
I feel lucky to be able to work with y’all as your senior academic advisor as well as with students in AADS, AAS and RIM. I am UT COLA, University of Arizona, and UT COE alum with degrees in Liberal Arts, Latin American Studies and Cultural Studies in Education. I am also a borderlands Tejana, and mom to two very cool kids. I am easy to find, you may contact me via email (lucy.velez@austin.utexas.edu) or schedule a virtual or in-person appointment. You can find me in RLP 4.412 but have office hours in buildings, GWB and BUR.

Undergraduate Minors and Certificates
The WGS and LGBTQ Studies minors and certificates are explained here.
These program have open applications. Students should apply to these when visiting with their primary academic advisor (of their major/home department).
Graduate Advisor
The Graduate Advisor is responsible for giving you information regarding your degree plan, monitoring your progress, and helping you out in areas such as petitions, scholarships, study abroad, and transfer of credit. The Graduate Advisor meets individually with WGS graduate students prior to fall and spring course registration.
Graduate Coordinator
The Graduate Coordinator keeps track of all students' degree plans, bars, petitions, conference course contracts, and the like. All administrative matters pertaining to registration as a WGS major are within the responsibility of the Graduate Coordinator, who works with the undergraduate and graduate advisors.
