Students' Association for Gender Studies Engagement (SAGE): WGSS Student Success

This caption describes the image above.
Join SAGE: WGSS Student Success, the organization for Women's and Gender Studies majors/minors + LGBTQ Studies students! All students, majors, and genders welcome. There are currently about 70 WGS majors, and over 200 students between the WGS minor and LGBTQ Studies certificate. We hope that SAGE is a space where our students can meet and create community, early in their undergraduate experiences. SAGE provides a casual space on campus for WGSS students to discuss their classes, interests, future plans, needs, and interests.
Scholarship. Activism. Growth. Engagement.
Student Leaders:
Laena Bodovsky (she/they) is a second-year double major in Sociology and Sustainability Studies. She manages the Instagram and is excited to grow SAGE’s engagement within the student body! They are looking forward to organizing events for queer/feminist students and anyone who is interested in WGS and she can’t wait to see the community SAGE will build over the next year!
Maggie DiSanza (she/they) is a second-year double major in Women’s & Gender Studies and English, pursuing a Certificate in Human Rights & Social Justice. She is excited to host feminist and queer events to build community among the WGS community and foster a deeper appreciation for identity studies. Outside of SAGE, Maggie works as the Campus Organizer for Texas Rising, loves to read, spend time outside, and write.
Michael Lopez (He/Him) is a third-year double major in Government and Humanities with double minors in LGBTQ Studies and Architectural History. His other involvements include being a work-study student within the Department for Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and working for the Cornell University Legal Constructs Lab. Michael also founded and manages the UT Austin fellowship of the national nonprofit Matriculate, which supports first-gen, low-income high school students in getting into universities. He’s passionate about the historic preservation of queer spaces and urban politics, and plans to pursue graduate and legal studies.
