This page includes next steps for students who have been admitted to the Shakespeare at Winedale Summer Class.

Here are the tasks we need you to accomplish.

First, fill out these forms!

Then, here is information on how you will register for the course and the deadlines by which you must register and pay!

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

  • IF YOU ARE A CURRENT UT STUDENT: You can Register for the Summer Class when your registration window opens.

  • IF YOU ARE NOT A CURRENT UT STUDENT, BUT YOU HAVE ATTENDED UT IN THE PAST: You will need to apply for Re-Admission on the Apply Texas application.  There is a $75 application fee, for which you can request a fee waiver if necessary.  (See the Apply Texas site).  Please complete this by April 28 2025.  Please email Emma (ewatkins@utexas.edu) to confirm when you have applied.

  • IF YOU HAVE NEVER ATTENDED UT: You will need to apply for Transient Admission on the Apply Texas application.  There is a $60 application fee, for which you can request a fee waiver if necessary.  (See the Apply Texas site).  Please complete this by April 28 2025.  Please email Emma (ewatkins@utexas.edu) to confirm when you have applied.

WHEN TO REGISTER:  The registration windows for Summer 2025 are

  • April 8 to 18
  • May 19 to 21

You will have to confirm your registration and pay tuition no later than 5pm, Wednesday, May 21.

You can find out the next registration window at the When To Register and Pay website.

The unique numbers for Shakespeare at Winedale are 79395 and 79455. You MUST register for BOTH classes. You get six hours of credit as part of the summer class, so you must register for one three hour course in each of the two summer sessions.

Fees will vary depending upon residency status, home college, etc, but a Texas Resident, undergraduate, Liberal Arts student will pay $2783 in flat rate tuition.  To check what you will owe for tuition, visit the Tuition Rates page.

To register, visit the Registering for Classes webpage.  Once you are registered, you will have until 5 PM that day to pay your tuition and fees. Unfortunately, if you miss that time slot, they do charge a late fee.

If you do not pay tuition by the above date (May 21), you will be dropped from the class.

ACTIVITY FEES AND SCHOLARSHIPS

As mentioned in the summer class application, there is an activity fee charge that helps offset expenses for the summer, including things like room and board and some of our travel. Shakespeare at Winedale pays for everything else. This year, the activity fee is $3250. But I’ve got some good news - everyone will be receiving a scholarship to help pay this amount. Shakespeare at Winedale will be giving everyone a $1750 scholarship.

This scholarship will be distributed as either direct deposit or a paper check mailed to you.

This scholarship can been seen as a reimbursement, since it will not be applied directly to your total amount due, so you will still need to pay the activity fee in full. Just know that you’ll be getting a portion of that money back in scholarship funds.

CHECK FOR REGISTRATION BARS!

This information (ie traffic tickets, library fines, UHS charges) will be listed on your personal registration sheet in UT Direct. Transient and readmitted students: you will have to check for bar once you’ve been admitted to UT. Email me if you have any trouble with this step! We need to make sure this gets taken care of. To learn more about registration bars and check your status, visit the Resolving Holds webpage.
