Sneha Kumar (PhD in Development Sociology, Cornell University) is a social demographer with interests in the social determinants of health, gender disparities, family sociology, transnational migration, aging and multigenerational caregiving. Her research projects broadly focus on the implications of demographic change for family life, gender dynamics, and health in developing countries. Her doctoral dissertation examined how rising levels and changing patterns of labor outmigration have influenced mental health outcomes for migrant-sending families in Indonesia. Sneha has worked as a Consultant for the Poverty and Equity Practice at the World Bank, Washington D.C., and as a Research Assistant at the Center for Microfinance in Chennai, India. She earned her BSc in Economics and Economic History and her MSc in Economic History from the London School of Economics, U.K.

David Mallinson is a population health scientist and a postdoctoral research fellow for the DeCodE Zika and Covid project. He specializes in combining multiple data sources—including birth records, medical insurance claims, and social services data—to investigate maternal, infant, and child health outcomes. His substantive research encompasses three topics: (1) the consequences of pre- and early-life health on children’s development; (2) the effectiveness of prenatal care interventions for improving pregnancy outcomes; and (3) health-related spillover effects between siblings. Additionally, he builds graphical causal models for identifying treatment effects in family networks. Mallinson holds a PhD in Population Health Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
