Ms. Osman's research follows Somali diasporic women in Minnesota and their activism work to prevent the demolition of public housing and the potential of a second displacement of the Somali community within 30 years. Roda is now working on a book, Be a Mountain: A Cultural Reflection Between One Kitchen Table, which speaks to the conflict between first generation American children and their relationship with their parents using her own personal story with her mother.
