Spring 2025 Schedule

Lower Division Anthropology Courses

Upper Division Anthropology Courses

All Courses

  • Registering for Lower Division Courses (ANT 301, ANT 302, ANT 304, or ANT 307)

The majority of seats in Lower Division ANT courses are open for all students to register. A few seats in each section are reserved for students majoring in Anthropology. If a class is marked as “open,” all students may register. If a class is marked as “open; reserved” you may not be able to register at this time. Some unclaimed seats may be released by November 15th. All unclaimed seats will be released before the start of the semester.

  • Registering for Upper Division Courses

For the first week of registration in a given semester, seats may be reserved for Anthropology majors. If a class is marked as “open,” all students may register if they meet the prerequisites. Some unclaimed seats may be released later in a given registration period. All unclaimed seats will be released before the start of the semester.

If a class is closed and has an open Waitlist, please add yourself to the list.

  • Remember to Check for Cross-listings

Many ANT courses are cross-listed with other departments. If an ANT course is marked as “closed” or “open; reserved,” you may be able to register for the course through a cross-listing. To see if a course is cross-listed, click on the blue unique number while on the course schedule. If a course has a “same as” line, please click on these to see if the alternative section has an opening. If a cross-listed course is marked as “open,” you may register. A cross-listed course will appear on your degree audit in the same slot(s) that the ANT listing of the course would appear.

Registering for Classes

Texas One Stop has resources to help you learn when and how you will register for your next semester.

Clearing Holds

You may have holds preventing registration. You can view your holds and learn how to clear them on your Registration Information Sheet (RIS). It is your responsibility to clear all holds before your registration window opens.

Advising Holds

Advising holds are placed on student’s records that are new to the major or are on scholastic probation.  If you have an advising hold, you must meet with the Anthropology Undergraduate Advisor. It is the student’s responsibility to take care of all registration holds, including advising holds, BEFORE their registration time slot opens.

When do I register?

Students are assigned registration windows for the next term. You can view your window through on your Registration Information Sheet (RIS). Registration can be a stressful process. It is recommended that students prepare well in advance and set aside time to start building their schedule during their earliest registration window.

Paying Tuition

After you register, you will need to pay your tuition to confirm your registration. Depending on when you registered, tuition bills may not be available immediately. Please check back regularly for updates. Note: if you fail to pay your tuition by the set deadline, you may be dropped from all classes.
